From all that we have learned from the hundreds of Polaris Ranger and Hisun E1 conversions, we have bundled the best components to give you unlimited 48v and 12v DC power for the Intimidator UTV EV. This kit does it all and features a massive 315AH / 16.4 kWh (massive range of 65-75 miles), custom battery trays, 30 HP peak output, and standby heating so you can regen brake in below freezing temperature while still being 280 lbs lighter than the stock lead acid batteries. Everything remains functional including the 12v system that runs the main headlights and built-in winch (it now has up to 400 amps/4kW of pulling power) so you get the best of 12v power and 48v power form a single kit. You can even keep your onboard charger and it works fine (both the Eagle Performance and Summit II).
The Sun Fun Kits official lithium kit for the Spartan Intimidator UTV EV takes all the guesswork out on how to convert your unit to reliable and maintenance free lithium power. In essence you will be removing the stock 8x 6v batteries and will be replacing them with 4 315EX batteries. The kit includes connection cables and custom made battery mounting trays that will keep the batteries securely in place. All of the 12v (headlights & winch) and 48v (main drive train) systems in your unit will work as normal but now you will have access to significantly more power and a true real world range of 65 miles (even in high mode at full power). The entire upgrade can be done in about 2-3 hours:
A 4 port charger is included with the kit that is designed to work with either the Eagle Performance charger or the Lester Electric Summit II charger. This will ensure balanced and full charging and it also works as a battery maintainer. If you are using your unit in very cold climates, you’ll love the combination of allowing the battery to run the heaters and remain balanced with the other batteries. The batteries support various heating (both during charging as well as standby heating which can keep them warm even when not charging), bluetooth communication, and have a user friendly app that will show you vehicle speed, state of charge (fuel gauge), vehicle power and battery temperature. The SFK315EX also support battery life extending features such as setting a power reserve cut-off (e.g. you can set the batteries to stop discharging when only 10% is left) or you can send a maximum charge level (such as setting it to 90% max charge) this means you can leave you batteries plugged in and not worry about degradation at high or low states of charge levels.
In terms of performance, you will have access to 22 kW (30 horsepower) peak up for up to 50 seconds and will easily reach the top speed of your vehicle (limited to 23 mph as per federal regulations). You can drive up to 65 miles at full speed off a single charge (on paved terrain), with mixed speed driving you can expect between 50 - 70 miles.
