The SFK 5 amp active balancer is a must for DIY batteries and projects. An active balancer differs from a regular resistence based balancer because of its ability to bring all cells in a battery pack to the same voltage level by moving amps from the highest charged cell to the lowest. Unlike resistence based balancer, no amperage is wasted and this greatly improves the balancing capability.

 

The SFK HP line of ready made batteries use active balancers and we recommend getting an active balancer if you are planning on buying one of our DIY kits.

  • A must have for cells that do not have perfectly matching IR rates (we have found even certified grade A cells still have varying IR rates).
