SFK Driver for Venus OS 3.8 / 3.81 HDMI issue.

An issue with the SFK Venus OS Driver 3.8 and 3.81 has been found that causes HDMI connected displays such as the Victron 5" and 7" screens not to display the Venus OS GUI properly. This shows up as a flashing underscore on a blank white or black screen. Sun Fun Kits technicians have identified this issue and are working on a fix, ETA for corrected display driver is October 12th (Monday). This issue does not affect users that are using VRM or accessing Venus OS via the web server.

UPDATE: October 12th, 2026

Version 3.801 and 3.812 have been released for Venus OS 3.8 and 3.81 respectively. We have identified the issue and it coincides with the release of the MK3 Cerbo GX device. Changes to the HDMI libraries resulted in version mismatch which would cause the screen not to appear correctly. Updating this driver via vrm or the usb method should resolve the problem.
